Keyboard on HP Pavilion dv6-3012eg

Hello everybody,

 

I have some Problems with the keyboard of my hp pavilion notebook (or with how the keyboard behaves).

 

I can't use e.g. ALT-F4 to close windows like on other laptops. To use combinations with ALT or CTRL or to use a Function-key I also have to press the 'fn'-key. eg: fn-ALT-F4 to close a window.

 

It seems like the fn-key is ON when not-pressed and OFF when pressed.

 

How can I disable this?

1)Press the power button to turn on the computer.

2)Press the f10 key to open the BIOS setup window.Then navigate to the System Configuration option and you will find an option which says Action Keys Mode option, and then press the enter key to display the Enable / Disable menu.

It would help if you stated which version of the Windows operating system is installed. Based on your descriptio, the problem is keystrokes, not the keyboard itself.
