Laptop Choices

I am thinking of getting one of these Laptops:

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6864  $1150

2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 4 GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive

15.4" Display

Vista Premium

2) Lenovo Thinkpad SL400 $1000

2.26GHz Intel Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 2GB DDR2 SDRAM / 250GB Hard Drive / DVD±RW

14.1in 1280 x 800 Display / Intel GMA X4500HD / Gigabit Ethernet, IEEE 802.11a+b+g, IEEE 802.11n (draft), Bluetooth

Win XP Pro / 5.5lb(s)

Is the extra $150 for the Toshiba worth it?

It is a little bigger in size, but seems to have more ram and Hard Drive. Which one do you think would be the fastest, or are they basicly the same speed?

Any others to recommend?

My fingers are typing, computer is computing, now I just need to get my brain thinking ;-)

Re: Laptop Choices

I am going to presume that you have noticed that this is the HP website, not the Lenovo or Toshiba website. As a consequence of that we here tend to feel strongly about our laptops. Any one of us could have purchased a Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell, Sony or Apple. Personally, I think you need to get whatever laptop that you want and deal with it's particular little problems.

In short, this is a SUPPORT site, not a SALES site.

Have a nice day.
