Laptop Lid ... How Wide?

Hi :smileyhappy:

I know this might seem a silly question to some people :smileysad:

But it's a question that has been bugging me for 4 months now.

I was wondering if someone could please tell me... How wide are we supposed to open our laptop lids?

I always use my laptop in the same place - Kitchen Table

I'm rather small, and the kitchen table is a little high for me.

If I was to use my laptop with the lid open at a perfect 90 Degrees ... I would see everything perfect! :smileyvery-happy:

e.g.

Colours would look correct

No problems with light reflection

However!

Whenever I see laptops being used by friends, relatives or On TV ... The laptop lid is always open much wider :smileysurprised:

e.g. 110 Degrees

Because Of This...

I've been struggling to use my laptop with the lid open slightly wider than 90 Degrees :smileysad:

Probably more like 100 Degrees

I would really like to use my laptop with the lid at 90 Degrees :smileyvery-happy:

But Before I Do...

Can someone please tell me... What is the correct angle \--  for a laptop lid to be opened to?

Thanks In Advance! :smileywink:

Re: Laptop Lid ... How Wide?

There is no correct/specified angle that you have to open the lid to....it's just whatever suits you.  The best viewing angles are usually between 90° to 120°

So just ignore everyone else and use it the way you'd like to!  :smileytongue:

Re: Laptop Lid ... How Wide?

Sure thing...the easiest way to find special characters is by using the Character Map on your computer.  You can use the links below to learn more.

Re: Laptop Lid ... How Wide?

Hi kalt :smileyhappy:

Thanks! :smileywink:

I'd completely forgotten about the - Character Map

I did use it a few times when I had my old XP computer.

But I've never used it with Vista - Yet!

You would think Microsoft would put it somewhere more obvious / handy :smileysad:

Like The Saying Goes... Out Of Sight - Out Of Mind!

I'll have to have a little play with the Vista - Character Map :smileywink:

Thanks Again!

Re: Laptop Lid ... How Wide?

What is the recommended angle for opening the lid of a laptop? Does it hurt the hinges if it is opened more than 90 degrees?
