Laptop problem

Hello I have an HP G72 notebook,its about 18 months old,yesterday I turned on the laptop and arried it through to anothe room,however while it was booting a long bleeping started and asked me to press the escape key to carry on,now every time I start the laptop the same long continuous bleep is there.I may of pressed a key when carrying it..any ideas...
