Locked out - forgot password

I just got my laptop and had just finished registering and setting up password. I key in what I believe is my paaword but it does not accept. I must have typed in something else when registering. How can I get in now?

Hi:

If you are referring to not remembering your Windows password, you can try one of the free password recovery tools found on this web page:

Re: Locked out - forgot password

You have a few options.

1) boot into safe mode and see if the hidden administrator account has a password set or not (alot of people forget to set it). once you get in you can create yourself a new user.

2) An ERD disk would work if you have one.

3) If you have an install disk you can also do a repair install which will ask you for a new admin password but won’t delete the other programs on the machine.

4) downloadable crack programs like those listed here : http://www.windowsloginrecovery.com/windows-7-password-recovery.html

Way 1. Use Previously-created password reset disk

Way 2. Use another Windows administrator account
Step 1: Sign in Windows via another administrator account.
Step 2: Type “user accounts” in the search box and select User Accounts in the search results.
Step 3: User Accounts windows will open, with All Windows user accounts displayed.
Step 4: Select the user account that you want to reset password of.
Step 5: Type a new password twice, a password hint once, and then click Change password button.

Way 3. Use Reset Windows Password Utility
