Low Battery Message on start-up

When powering on notebook (HP G72 model) I get message:

Low battery capacity on

Primary (internal) Battery (601)

Is this message referring to the large battery that is easily accessible on outside of laptop, or the one inside?

I opened up the laptop and replaced the small battery, I believe it was a CR2032 battery, but still getting the same message.

Before I replace the other battery, wanted to clarify which battery this message is referring to.

601 refers to the primary battery, the large one that is removable on the back/bottom of the PC without using a screw driver.

THANK YOU!  I ordered the small "inside" battery, thinking it was that one, and broke the plastic cover in the process.  Fortunately, the small battery was only $5.00 from Hong Kong  with free shipping (smile).  Now I know the correct one.  Thank you again!

I am getting the low battery message on start-up also, can anyone tell me how long the battery is supposed to last?  Thi sis the 2nd I have on my laptop. The 1st was damaged and HP replaced a no cost, and it's not quite a year and already I am getting this message? Could this be the length of time the battery is supposed to last?  thank you
