Is there a way to get my dvd out of the dvd drive when my notebook wont power up at all?   Im supposed to be sending it in for repairs this week but I think I read somewhere to take all cd's/dvd's out before doing so.   Im not sure how to go about getting it out though.  Any help would be much appreciated!  Oh and btw, its a Hp Pavilion 9500

Look for a pinhole in the faceplate. Bend out a paperclip and stick it in. The drawer should open up and allow you to extract the DVD.
