Mouse TouchPad issues

I have an HP Pavillion dv4-2169nr running Windows 7 64-bit (I think)

Since last night, I keep having difficulty trying to make the touch pad of my mouse work. It will work sometimes and other times it will make the pointer take big jumps from one side of the screen to the other. Or it won't move at all or very little.

I've tried putting everything on the mouse options to default but nothing changed. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver but that didn't seem to work either.

I know that I have dropped the laptop a couple times but always on to carpet and there doesn't seem to be any physical damage.

Please help :smileyhappy:

Re: Mouse TouchPad issues

Hi Orin!

One problem that you might have is the drop which is considered an accidental damage. It might not have a physical damage outside but there could be something wrong on the inside.

One suggestion you could do is to run a System Recovery and set the notebook back to its original factory settings. This could isolate if there is a hw or sw issue.

HTH! :smileyhappy:
