My HP G62 screen goes white then just lines

When switched on the screen starts white in top left hand corner then spreads across screen, then the screen goes black and into just a scrambled mess with lines running across. I think it is the graphics chip as I plugged in another screen and same thing happens. Is there any soultion or has all hope gone.

What is the exact model number of your notebook?

For most HP Notebook PCs, to find your Product Number: hold down FN and ESC keys at the same time.
