Hi Fello Forum peep's
here is my situation this morning I switched as normal as you do after yesterday i was only useing to watching something on youtube..
and I got this:
windows failed to start.a recent hardwareor software change might be the cause.
If the windows files have been damaged oror configured incorrectly , startup repair
can help diagnose and fix the problem. if power was interrupted during startup,
choose start windows normally.(use the arrow keys to highlight your choice.)
launch startup repair recommended (highlighted white on screen)
start windows normally
seconds until the highlighted choice will be selected automatically: (coundown to 0)
description: fix problems that are preventing windows from starting
after filling in the basic english united kingdom or country tables after this
it came to a :
system recovery options:-
saying choose a recovery tool
list being with icons
startup repair : automatically fix problems that are preventing windows from starting (did this one twice hasn't work)
system restore : restore:windows to an earlier point in time
windows complete pc restore : restor your entire computer from a backup
windows memory diagnostic tool: check your for memory hardwar errors
command prompt : open a command prompt window
recovery manager : recovery manager
Any Idea's anyone on how to solve this laptop?

Right I'm amazed myself that i even did it myself, the option i choose was
WINDOWS COMPLETE PC RESTORE
(i hope i'm getting these details right as i only fixed it last night)
throughout these updates it always reminds you to have the power cable plugged in and not to switch off the laptop.
firstly it then checked for a backup which there wasn't one , so then then it then rebooted and began to
begin to install updates of which was around 64 to nearly 70 of them if i remember which i thought was mad it
took ages.
following that it then rebooted and installed 3 reconfiguration updates of to re configure the harddrive, of which it failed (this might just happen on my laptop)..then it rebooted and installed 3 updates 3 of 3 to 100% with each.
and after restarting my personal profile came up on windows vista home premium , i entered my password and it opened ! . . . i was amazed !.
but to test the problem i did a restart with power cable attached to laptop it was fine. then a shut down and switch on without power cable, still fine.
I'm now writing this online with my laptop :-) . . i hope it stays like this .
