My built in Webcam won't work :(

Hi ! I have a bit of a problem here. Well. My mom just bought this compaq laptop for me, since my cousin had it. I tried it and it was really cool so I asked my mom to buy it. But the problem is, I can't seem to open my webcam. :/ Only my voice works :l I tried doing it with my friends through oovoo or aim or msn. they were only able to hear me. :/ I don't want to mess up this laptop so I just came here to download the camara devices to enable my webcam to work. But I just can't find it ! please help.

Hi,

take a look at the bottom of the laptop. There should be a barcoded sticker.

Post everything that is there except the serial number. Post the name of the installed operating system and whether it is 32 or 64-bit.

Thanks for the helpeing.

 

I can't find what your asking me, I see the sticker with all these numbers but I can't seem to find the specific things to show. I know this compaq is x64. But is there a easier way for me to find what tyour asking me ?

HI,

No. Please read the document. It gives many ways of identifying your notebook. Just the series number is not enough. HP makes so many different notebooks in the series that I need to know which specific one you own.

 

Ask your Mom to help by reading the web page and identifying your notebook. Once you are able to provide the information you are well on your way to having a webcam that works.(with a little help from us :smileyhappy:

I'm in the right place though. Right? Currently I'm in the HP Support Assitant thing. If it's the series that you need. Can you tell me where in the Assitant I can find the Series ?

OK.

In the Support Assistant look at the bottom. What I need it the product number. Here is an image of it.

 

Do you see what I mean? only the Product Number is needed.
