My computer doesn't recognize when I insert a disc into the DVD RW Drive.

Problem occured when I canceled a a disc being burned. Since then if I try to burn a disc, it tells me to insert a blank disc. or if I insert a pre-recorded disc it does nothing.

I've tried this already a couple of times with several different discs. Whether trying to play or burn a disc, I always get a "disc...is not detected, or is not supported" message. I even installed the Driver Manager and tried that, too.

Hello,

I would suggest trying to reseat the ODD drive , other than that - it sounds like you may need a new one.

I purchased two HP Pavilions and had this same problem with both of them, within three months of purchasing them! I simply eject and reload about 12 to 20 times and they eventually read the discs. I am trying to load a dvd game right now and am on eject number 10,.....it will eventually spin up and read it, lol.

what am i going to do my laptop cant read dvd and it will take a lot of time  but if i put my cd ( music) it will play automatically .
