My laptop is not downloading the windows updates that I tell it to.

I have an HP Pavillion g series.

Head over to the Microsoft Download Center and see if the updates will download manually. Simply search for the updates using the number given in the Windows Update program: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/default.aspx
