New HP Pavillion G7 with a coolant smell?

Bought this new last week.  I smell coolant(sweet syrupy smell) coming from the fan area.  I would think this is a problem, any input

The copper cooling tubes on the heatsink contain either liquid or gas.

 

If yours contains liquid it could be leaking.

 

This could be very bad!!!

 

I would return it ASAP.

 

Just a note.

 

Most rejected warranty repairs are due to liquid damage.
