I'm not sure what you mean by this: and do to install any other.
I am happy to do what you suggest but this is not clear.

We will just uninstall the Broadcom bluetooth driver from the system and that is all.
We will not install other driver for this device instead.

This certainly seems to have worked, i have attempted to get the dreaded error message back but it will not appear. many thanks, I will leave KUDOS and mark the solution as accepted. You are a star.

If it is not showing up now then you may try to install it again just to check will this problem show up again or not.
Use this latest version which I posted in one of my replies.

I have now re-installed the driver you sent and so far the error message has not appeared. Hooray. You're a double star.

The problem returned.
I installed Pantone Huey Pro and the 'unable to start bluetooth stack service' window popped up when I started the programme. So I uninstalled but the problem persisted. So I did a syatem restore to before the installation of Pantone Huey Pro and the problem disappeared.
Just to make sure, I repeated the whole installation/unistall/restore process and everything is again satisfactory.
Although the Pantone website is adamant that Huey Pro 1.0.5 does work OK with Windows 7, it did not run on my machine although it had been satisfactory on my previous Windows Vista system. I did have HueyPro installed before my earlier System Recoveries.
So the original probem is caused by program incompatibility, a situation which has been a probleince my original Windows 3 system and onwards with 98, Millenium, XP, Vista and 7.
Once again thanks for your help. I hope the problem goes away, I have thrown the HueyPro to the bin.
