Pavilion Dv8000 Dead?

My laptop suddenly stopped working. When I turned it on. Lights are all aglow, But no familiar boot-up noises. The screen remains dark. The power button will not turn it off.

Re: Pavilion Dv8000 Dead?

See my answer in this thread.

But before jumping to that conclusion, connect up an external monitor and see if you have a desk top.

Also test the RAM, by removing one stick and see if it will boot, if not try the other stick in the bottom slot.

Can you get into the BIOS by immediately tapping the f10 key on boot up ?
