Hi Miraclebob,

I have used your solution, It is still not working well. Every time I start my youcam it start with dark screen and I have to control its exposure value manually. If I set this value to auto, then Image gets flicker.

Over all It gives very bad image quality.  I have never thought that HP will make such a TrueVision HD that no one can see the image except HP. 

I have seen other companies laptop even very cheaper Than HP TureVision  Pavilion Gives High Quailty image and Video  in web cam.

MORAL of the STORY

THE HP TrueVision HD Pavilion DV6 is the WORST Product of HP.

I buy also Pavilion Dv6 6190 se new  one that also same story camera is not workking more dark .realy i am also fade up.

Dear all

when i open camera i facing the same issue .Camera more dark i call customer care .they are help less they told me please take to service centre .but i found mt self the problem open your web cam via cyberlink you cam and click enhnce video image (Look Right side you can optiion and click 6 th option from top) click advanced at bottom,then you can see camera control at top click on it ,and change"EXPOSURE'' AS A AUTO ( click on auto )apply close you can see it

For those of you having a problem with the dark screen on YouCam....a SOLUTION has been found

Never ever mess with exposure settings, this is when things start to go wonky. Open up youcam click "enhance the current video settings" then click on the "advanced" button at the bottom, then click on camera control tab, Now, make sure that you have checked (tick) the exposure box at -5 and make sure that the low light compensation box is also checked, click apply, okay and it should work now. If it still doesnt work then it's a hardware probelm.

don't worry dear its nothing wrong with cam i had same issue but since i open my yahoo settings and check everything Auto should be work proper

heya. to fix it (mine was black and now showing anything) i went onto the youcam application,went on enhance the current video image then onto advance. you will then see two tabs. click on the camera control and select auto for exposure. hope this helps
