Pavilion dv6 not charging, windows vista 64 bit

The battery is not charging, the charging box is just beeping. It has happened before, but then started working again after a day or two, now it has gone 2 months!!! I installed windows 7, five months ago, but the pc had windows vista when i bought it.

Hi Thesnordymab,

 

Can you share which model of dv6 you are using?  A product number or model number would be helpful in providing assistance.

 

Do you have HP Support Assistant installed?  If not you can install the latest version from here.  In HP Support Assistant you can run the HP Battery Check which will tell you if the battery needs replaced or not.  Instructions can be found here.

 

Depending on your model, it may also help to update the computers BIOS.  

 

Let us know what you find.
