Hello I have an HPlaptop with Windows Vista, which I purchased in 2009. I got a Brother 4 in 1 printer, which I purchased within the last year. I misplaced the Driver Installation Disc,so I downloaded the driver installation program from the Brother site.
It didn't work, so I waited (2 hours on hold!) for support. The tech walked me through everything step by step. But it didn't work: the tech said either the USB wire was bad, or I am missing "Universal Printing Support" under the Device manager in my computer.
I tried 2 other wires, and neither seemed to make the printer work. Looking in my Device Manager,I dont see Universal Printing Support.
Could you please help me? The Brother printer is model MFCJ435W. Thank you!

Hi That didn't work...
That driver was for HP devices. You need the Brother specific or Brother Universal Printer Driver for PCL
You might also try the Brother support site: http://www.brother-usa.com/support/

I did download it and it didnt work...as I said in my original post.
Your original post says nothing about you trying to install the Brother Universal Print Driver.
