Scrolling function not working properly on touchpad

I just got this (HP Pavilion G4-1104DX)  laptop and I've noticed that the scroll function on the touchpad does not work properly. I extended the region of the scroll area as far right as I could in the settings. The scroll function works partially if I try to scroll near the middle of the touchpad. It's like the right edge of the touchpad is not registering. I've uninstalled and re-installed the device driver. I'm running Windows 7. What can I do to get this working properly? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Re: Scrolling function not working properly on touchpad

Uninstall the Synaptics touchpad drivers through Control, Panel > Programs and Features, restart the computer and then install updated one from here

After the updated drivers have  been installed, try changing zone size and that should ideally help you
