Simple Pass on HP Pavilion dv6 stopped operating

Simple pass was working, but now when I go to a page requiring a finger scan it nows asks me to get HP Simple Pass started. When I try this I get an error message Sensor not connected. Please connect sensor and try again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Uninstall current driver and software for fingerprint reader.

Uninstalling Software in Windows 7

Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7

Install latest driver from here and software from here.

Note:

If at any time, you will be prompted to restart the computer then do it.

Sorry. I am not very good with computers. I am guessing the software is simplepass 2011, but I can not find the driver. What would it be called?
