Startup Black Screen and Beeps, HELP, pls

I have a HP Pavilion zv5410. When I turn it on it has a black screen and it beeps (1-2-2). I've gone on some sites about this but don't really understand what is going on.

I put new RAM in because I was told by a techie that it was usually the RAM going bad, but this didn't help. I can't do anything with the BIOS because I can't even get a screen to enter info, even with an external monitor.

I was told that I could get the data off my hard drive with a hard drive enclosure kit. I bought the Rocketfish 2.5 inch enclosure kit but it has a different connecter (for individual pins where mieare solid "pins" that slide down into the laptop connector).

Any ideas or suggestions. I would appreciate any help.

Your hdd has an adapter over the pins that slides off.Remove it and it should fit in the enclosure.

It worked!!!  I feel so stupid for not trying to see if the plastic piece came off.  Thanks so much for the help!

 I have totally back screen and the switch on the front edge of computer is orange even as I move it from left to wright ???
