So heres the deal, to cut it all out, i've done what a few people seem to have done, and ultimately ended up deleting the hp tools partion and effectively bricking the laptop -facepalm-
I HAVE read the hp page detailing how to download and install the bios onto a flash drive (formatted to FAT32 and renamed HP_TOOLS). It ends up giving me a load of .sig files in one folder, and then another folder called bios, which is completely blank...
Am I missing something really obvious? For the record, I got rid of the pre installed windows 7 straight away and through on windows xp, (not thanks to hp themselves) i managed to get the drivers up and running, but when i check the compatable os' for all the bios related stuff, it only relates to windows 7, that can't be good?
Forgot to mention, it's the hp G56 130sa (:
-edit-
I DID read like a 4 page long thread about this kinda thing, but they seemed to have files that i just couldn't get?
