USB ports not working

A few days ago my USB ports have stopped working on my pavilion dv7.

 When i go to the device Manage it pops under"Universal Serial Bus controllers" with a dropdown menu and it has a "exclamation" symbol in from all of them.

Clicking on one tells me i have  aproblem and code "10"

i tried installing the driver again and nothing would work.

Please help me out

I know this may sound weird but when you're on your laptop, is it plugged into an outlet?

I only ask because I heard unpluging the Power adapter from the wall and from your laptop, that it "resets" the Motherboard.  I don't know if this is true or not but maybe it's worth a try.
