Volume Buttons

Hey all, I have an HP Pavilion dv5 1200 Entertainment PC, and I'm having an issue with the buttons above the keyboard next to the power button (MediaSmart, Mute, Volume down, Volume up, Previous track, Play/Pause, Next track, Stop, enable wireless internet.) You see when I first bought the laptop when I pushed the volume buttons, it would make a little clicking noise that lets you know how loud the volume is, and it also gave a visual aid. It did this with the mute button, as well as the others. They no longer do this, and it's rather annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Volume Buttons

For all of you folks that have problems with your quick launch buttons!!! I too have had similar problems and HP did not have a clue how to fix it. They want me to restore my system to factory spec's, which was not a choice because of all the programs on the pc. Here is the fix if your button above keyboard does not work,, Shut computer down, pull the battery out of the laptop, leave off for about two minutes. Put battery back in and power up, your buttons should work again, thats how I fixed mine!!!!!!!!!!!!! No thanks to HP!!!

Re: Volume Buttons

I hope you read the thread, because what you suggested doesn't work at all. You just need drivers.

Re: Volume Buttons

That didn't work. I notice when i try to turn the volume up and down the little slider on the speaker icon in the system tray just randomly jumps around.

The mediasmart, mute, volume, rewind, play, fast forward, stop and wifi buttons do not work even after installing that driver you sent me too and even went as far as to do the dell restore on it,but it still does it.
