Web cam

I can not locate the icon for the Web cam. 

When I go into Device Manager, it says HP Web cam driver is installed but I can not activate the camera.

I already 'uninstalled" the driver and re-installed the driver via the HP website....that didn't work

What is the product number of your computer? Click start, type either hp media smart webcam or youcam on the search field. You should be able to see the program to test the webcam with.

Product # is HP Pavillion DV9700; --Vista.    I performed a search for both 'hp media smart' webcam and 'youcam' but nothing was found.

Please provide the exact product number. heres how example: ga456ua #aba. You may have the webcam driver but no program to operate it. ill try to find the software once i got the product number.

Hi long4peace,

Since you don't have MediaSmart or Youcam in your notebook, you should ideally have Quickplay for multimedia purposes. If you find Quickplay, please refer to the following document to help you with testing and activating the webcam.

• Click on the Windows button on your keyboard.
• In the search field, type "Quickplay". If you have Quickplay, it should ideally show it on the search results above the "Search", under "Programs".
• Click on it.

This is the model # that was on an old service invoice----DV9910US.  In July, the mother board was replaced.  Thanks for the help
