I recently purchased a refurbushed HP DV7-6163cl, model # QD984UA#ABA. i would like to find out what year(s) this laptop was made and if the case is used for other DV models other thean the DV7.

 

I am trying to purchase an InvisibleShield from Zagg.com but they want to know the year it was made.

It is a 2011 model. The case used is dependent on the options and CPU installed, so that is not something that can be easily determined.

 

Here is the Maintenence and Service manual for the dv7 series. Take a look in the illustrated parts catalog for the dv7.
