Why does my dv6 touchpad LED accent light not turn on?

I just bought a pavilion dv6 notebook product number A1U60AV online and cannot get the light around the touchpad to light up.  I have seen other posts about this problem and found the solution is supposed to be to press fn+spacebar to toggle the light feature.  This does not work though the light doesn't respond nor any sort of symbol or indication on my screen that my computer got the command.  I also tried a hard reset but it did nothing either.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Reinstall touchpad driver again from here and restart system. Check the result.

is having the same probs wondering if you could help in the matter before i take it back to the shop .have tried switching with fn+ space nada,the little orange light doesnt come on either on the top left .have noticed it today since i took the mouse out cz normaly i use the mouse ,but took the lappy to bed so thought the pad might be usefull including the darn light which didnt work!!.and thanks in advance for any help in the matter its starting to drive me up the walls.

Hi,

Uninstall your current driver for the Synaptics TouchPad and restart system (if it's installed, if not not just skip this part).

Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7

Download and install latest version (16.0.1.0) from here.

Restart system and check the result.

i just bought an envy dv6 7301 and the touchpad LED light is not working any more...and the upper double tap on the left cornet still not working too 
what should i do ?

Hello ahmad_parkour,

You’re not able to disable the touchpad.

Go to device manager, uninstall the synaptic touchpad and restart the computer.

This will uninstall and reinstall the driver for the touch pad.

Here is a link to your device manager.

Also go to HP.com and update the synaptic driver and BIOS.
