I am having a Pavilion dv6-3019tu Notebook with Windows 7 (Home Edition 64bit) installed.

Now i would like to install Windows XP from a CD which has the iso image. In BIOS boot order i have changed the boot option as CD/DVD, but still Windows 7 boots and not from the CD.

Please help me in installing Windows XP in my notebook.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jaseen

You're very welcome, Jaseen.

Below is the link to the drivers you need and then below that is a link to a guide to slipstream the drivers.

The first file listed is for XP 32 bit.

Read the Intel section and then follow the instructions on the downloadable document to slipstream all of the drivers.

Hi, Jaseen:

Turn on the notebook and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, tap the F9 key to launch the one time boot menu.

Select the DVD drive from the list, and see if you can boot from the XP disk that way.

If it doesn't boot that way, test the disk on another PC to rule out the XP disk being bad.

You are aware that you need to have the SATA drivers in order to install XP or XP will not see the hard drive.

Hi Paul,

Thanks a lot for the inputs.

I have checked the CD, it seems to be working fine. I could see the .iso file in it.

Even i extracted the iso file and tried to run the setup.exe, but the option for "install windows XP" is not active.

Can you please provide me the links to download the SATA drivers for Pavilion dv6-3019TU notebook.

Thanks & Regards,

Jaseen
