I  have a brand new HP Pavilion g7-1260us notebook and I can't scroll on the page. It will scroll on the sidebar.

I've gone through every setting possible that Synaptic has on this machine and I can't find it. They show a wonderful demo, but it's just not happening.

Hi,

Download and install latest driver for Synaptics TouchPad from here and restart system.

 

Note:

By default Two - Finger Scrolling is enabled. If you want to use only one finger for scrolling then check the link below:
