The hard drive will take off and spin to its' limits on the high , power setting. Causing heat, fans cooking.

This does don't happen on the recomended HP power setting.

Please update the BIOS on the unit and check if this helps.

Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
