flash bios presario cq61, it does not enter cmos menu

i want to flash my bios, but my laptop does not enter bios menu. it hangs immediately it displays the compaq logo. any help on how to flash.

Power down the notebook, unplug the AC power adapter, remove the Battery, hold the power button down for a full 30 seconds, connect AC only and see if it will post correctly now.

 

I would not update the bios until you find out the root cause of the hang issue.
