Hi,
What is the full version of Windows that you are using - ie Windows 7 64bit?

The Windows Sticker on the laptop says windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct.
But I'm not sure if it's 32Bit or 64 Bit

Hi,
Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.
If you tap away at f8 as you start the notebook, does this access Windows Recovery Console?

Tapping f8 does nothing as the boot partition is corrupt and will not load. I think it was caused by a rootkit virus.
Service Tag is TX1340ea
Thanks

Hi,
Your notebook is listed as coming with Vista Home Premium 32bit - do you have, or know anyone your could borrow from, a retail Vista 32bit installation disc?
