how to display the volume bar on screen

i did format to the pc and now cannot show the volume bar on screen.

after reading some answers i understand that i need to have mediasmart/OSD?

where can i find it?

Can you post back with the following.

1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

First, you will need to download and install 1 MediaSmart application such as HP MediaSmart DVD on the link below.

HP MediaSmart DVD.

When this application has installed, download and install HP MediaSmart SmartMenu on the following link.

HP MediaSmart SmartMenu.

When this installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Hi,

Try installing the version of HP OSD on the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55152.exe

After the installation, restart the notebook.  Does this install and work correctly?

I hope I am not interrupting anything but I have the same problem. I can't seem to find my volume or network icons. My model is Vista Home Premium Presario C700 Notebook PC 32-bit
