hp laptops partialy boots then freezes

howdy all, this is awsome, say i have a question this Compaq NC6220 laptop motherboard powers up and displays the HP splash screen. It prompts to press F10 for setup or F12 for network boot. When F10 is pressed it responds with "Entering setup" but nothing happens after that, does anyone have any ideas? i have never ran accross this issue before, thanks for any advice

Try different memory. Otherwise if you just cannot get past the splash screen it usually means a bad motherboard.
