Can you post the exact Model number of your notebook?
This information is available on Service and Maintenance Guide, which is available support Page for your notebook model.

I wasn't the original poster of the question, but I need the same info - I have a mal-functioning fan that I need to replace. Can you tell me how to do it?
I have an HP Pavillion DV7 notebook, not sure what other info you need.

the model # of my hp pavilion is dv7-6b78us .. it is similar, but seems not the same as the others mentioned in this thread.. I'm part of the way into taking it apart to clean or replace the cpu/gpu fan .. but it's seeming like I must be missing something. Any disassembly guides for this model ? thanks
