I have a G71 laptop with a blue ray player and when I try to play blue ray movie's it askes would you like to check for updates? over and over again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no help.

The solution you provided is something I am going to try. But I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have also upgraded it to Ultimate and it still doesn't read the Blue Ray disc. I did a complete restore of the Laptop to factory settings and it still didn't work. I downloaded a trial copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 and it works just fine. I don't understand what happened with the original software that came with the laptop. I called tech support and because it was out of warranty, they wanted $60 to provide phone support. I refused, and also came to the conclusion that I will never buy HP again. Dell would have supported it forever. I thought I was getting a great deal when I bought this laptop a few years ago, but I was wrong. Fool me once, same on you. I won't give you a second chance to fool me twice...
