I have a HP Envy 17 notebook pc running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My cursor moves on its own even when the Microsoft USB mouse is at rest and the touchpad is disabled.
I had the same issue for two years with the HP pavillion i just replaced, and tried everything to address it to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled the the mouse and the touchpad, updated drivers, rolled back drivers, changed settings for the mouse and clickpad
I would be deeply grateful for any advice on this issue before i go insane.

Yeah, I've tried changing the touchpad settings, unistalling and reinstalling the touchpad and the mouse hardware and drivers, and disabling the touchpad entirely, but the cursor just won't stand still..
I can set the mouse down and stand across the room, and the cursor still moves on its own, typically jumping up and to the left on the monitor.
I appreciate the reply though, thank you.
