my laptop wont turn on with a full battery and has to have the charger plugged in to work?

my lap top works fine but recently it started to not turn on unless the charger is plugged in. the laptop is a few monthe  old and still under warrenty. the battery is full but just wont work. the battery checker says that it is ok. what to do ?
