This is my 3rd HP Pavillion laptop and all of them have had issues with the power ac adapter either breaking, bending or getting loose, falling out. This time, randomly it fell out out and was hot, and the yellow plastic on the end is melted. Now it is mishapen and will not fit back in properly. It does enough to create a charge, but I don't feel safe letting it dangle unattended. Why would this happen? Should I just order another $100? Or should I take it somewhere and see if there is something wrong w/the jack?
Clueless and frustrated,
Sarah

Getting hot enough to melt the tip is not normal. If your laptop is still within the 1 yr warranty period, contact HP
