I always receive a message "Low Disk Space on E:\. When I click on it, says my recycle bin is the problem. However, the recycle bin is empty and shows 0 bytes. I checked the disk space on my E:\ (tools) and it is completely full. How do I delete or free up space on this drive?

Hi,
Click the Start Menu, open Computer and open HP_TOOLS. What are the names of the files listed here?

Hi,
The file Sandi-HP does not belong here and should be deleted.
To prevent this problem re-occuring, open windows Control Panel, open System and click System protection in the left hand pane. In the 'Protection Settings' pane, if HP_TOOLS is shown as On, left click the entry once to highlight it and then click the 'Configure' button. Fill in the radio button for 'Turn off system protection' and click Apply to save the change in this and the previous window.

Hi,
No, you won't lose anything - Windows is creating Restore Points for this partition when it should not be, only the C Partition should have Restore points being created.
To find the 'System' option, open windows Control Panel, click the dropdown box near the top right of the window next to View by: and select 'Large Icons' - you should now see the System option.

Thanks, I found the System Protection information. However, the E:\ is not there so I guess I shouldn't worry about it.
I did a reboot to see if my Disk space was freed up and now not only is my E:\ full but so is my D:\ (Recovery).
Obviously something is going on with this laptop. I've only had it about 6 weeks.

Hi,
Open HP_TOOLS again and let me know if the file Sandi-HP is still showing.

Hi,
Can you confirm the following just regarding the E Partition.
1. Is windows actually warning you of low space on this partition?
2. What is the total size of the partition and what is the freespace?
3. What partitions are listen under System Protection?
Regards,
DP-K
