Hi,
The only file I can see in the HP_TOOLS partition that you could delete is the one below.
MedilID.bin 528 bytes
Although the file size appears insignificant, it may be incorrectly reported, so delete it and restart the notebook.
Also, make sure that Windows Back-up does not have the D or E partitions set as a back-up destination.
Regards,
DP-K

Recovery D:\ 2.87 GB free of 21.5 GB
HP_TOOLS(E): 1.07 GB free of 3.95 GB
Colored bar almost to the end on the D:
I am not familiar with Windows 7. This is my first time using it so where or how can I make sure Windows Back-Up does not have the D or E partitions set as back-up destinations.
Thanks

Hi,
The bars on both partitions should look almost full, but should still be Blue - if this is the case, then everything is Ok.

The bars are blue so I guess I'm in good shape for now. If I continue to get the "Low Disk Space" pop up, should I go through the last few steps, i.e, click on link to see hidden files, etc.? Or should I contact HP Support again.

Hi,
That sounds about right ![]()
You'll probably find that this won't happen again, but certainly, the steps you've carried out to remove the unwanted files will work again if necessary.
If you're in any way unsure of what to remove, just ask on the forum.
All the best,
DP-K

I had the same problem. Here's what I found.
I have a 500GB disk and windows reported that the disk contained 465GB. The actual usage was about 80GB. I found a file in the C: drive that was 300GB. It was a shreader file. Open windows explorer to the C: drive and set the view setting to view all files, hidden and system. Delete the files in this directory.
