system fan 90B error

After 3 days having the computer, and let me tell that in three days I haven't used it too much, this error came out. So i tried turning on the PC several times and the same came out, after a few times the PC just started with the windows logo loading up, now it seems that the problem is solved, but I' m afraid that this could appear again at any time. Right now the PC is working well, but after reading all the posts Im starting to feel a bit disappointed about this machine, what a pity, everybody thinks that HP is a good brand, but they are nothing but a mask.

Re: system fan 90B error

Hi,

FanFan not operating correctly90BThe system fan may be malfunctioning.

For information on troubleshooting heat-related issues, see Fan Runs Constantly, the PC Operates Slower than Expected and Generates Heat .

It is also recommended that you perform a hard reset as that can sometimes restore the system fan to working order. See Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues for details.

If the system fan continues to malfunction, contact HP support.

Re: system fan 90B error

At this moment I aint gonna perform this reset, cause I don't have to, but we'll see if I'll eventually do it, time will say.

I use a piece of paper to get the fan moving, you can also use a paper clip but be careful not to block the fan.

Try with a air pressure to clean the fan, if that is not enough you have to get it cleaned elsewhere, I don't know if the HP garanty cover that.

I think it is dirt, I have only had mine 5 months when it started, but dust is able to settle very fast, specially in laptops where there is not much room.

I have coretemp running in the background and have it set to warn me when it get's very hot, just to be sure if the fan stops while using the laptop, but that has not happened yet. http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
