Just received my dv7-4060us yesterday. Unfortunately, I can't get any right-click functionality from the Synaptics touchpad. So far, both with and without HP on the line, I have confirmed that the Synaptics driver was current, did a re-install of Windows through the recovery manager, actually deleted the Synaptics drivers and defaulted to the Windows mouse driver......all to no avail. The "disable/enable" function works fine. Switching from "right handed" to "left handed" user had no effect. I did plug in an external USB mouse and that works fine......but kind of a nuisance with a brand new unit. Won't bore you with details but returning the unit for replacement will be awkward because it came through a third party (legally!!).

Are you just tapping on the right click zone or actually pressing it?
Have you tested the right click in Quickweb?

I had only been tapping it. But, because of your suggestion, I am embarrassed to say that I have discovered that there is actually a "click" that is engaged by pressing on the pad. Functionality all seems to be working fine. I'm embarrassed, but shouldn't the call centre tech have thought to ask me this "dumb question" too? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You are always welcome! ![]()
There is no reason to be embarrassed sir, this is something I had picked up long time back, touchpad functionality would drive, given that Click Zone are integrated into to the Touchpad now....
