Background color suddenly printing in green only, Why?

My Deskjet 960c printer, running with my MACs, suddenly decided to print all background color in green? Does anyone know how to correct this problem? The black ink cartridge is full enough to print all text in black, The green occurs in all photos I've inserted in text documents and in much of what I print from the Internet. It is as if one of the software updates created an incompatibility problem. Yes, I know the 960c is out of date, but it still prints. I don't use snow leopard, only leopard OS 10.5.8.
