Recently I had to move my Laserjet 5100 quickly when the roof started leaking rainwater on it. In my haste I shook it about a bit and also stood it on its end rather than on the base. I assume this disturbed the toner cartridge.
Since then a series of small black blobs are being printed on each page (in one position, at regular intervals). I estimate that the distance between the blobs may be the same as the circumference of the drum in the toner cartridge.
I have not yet printed a large number of pages to see if the blobs eventually cease to appear and things return to normal, but I would like to know if I should expect this or if I should assume I've made a mess of the cartridge and should just replace it?
thanks,
Michael
