C310A Chime when a computer is turned on...

I'm pretty sure it is coming from the C310A which is always on and connected wirelessly. In the same room are 2 other computers. Nearby but not next to the printer. Whenever (but it seems not always) either of the computers is turned on, there is a chime in the room at various points during the boot of the computer turned on. Sometime it even happens when the last one is turned off?

We can't be 100% sure it is coming from the printer though? Slight echo in the room makes it hard to be sure.

I suspect it is, and the black ink is LOW but not empty. It prints black OK so we're leaving the cartridge in until it stops printing (call me cheap). Could this be the cause? A chime from the printer alerting me to the fact that a cartridge needs to be replaced? This might have started at that time, not sure?

No documentation I can find says this will happen, nor is there a setting. I guess I can turn off the only sound setting or set it lower to see if that is it, but I'd thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knows?

I'm not sure why your printer is making that noise but here is a link to a post of someone who was having the same problem. In this post are directions on how to change the settings if you want to do that.

Hmm, this is old, and the problem went away without me doing anything?

I might have done one thing, set the IP Address so it wasn't random? It could have been Internet connects/disconnects.

Good deal.....glad this went away. It kind of sounds like the connection was turning off / on so if you set the IP address that may have fixed it. Thanks for sharing.
