C5280 Carriage jam

No paper jam, but I keep getting the carriage jam mesasage. Carriage moves freely manually. Tried removing the 350XL and 351XL cartridges but this is difficult to do, nowhere near as easy as on the video. The plastic with the white triangle on the green background, and a a pentagon and square in front of the ink cartridge obstructs cartridge removal. I wonder if this is the problem causing the carriage jam? Grateful for any help.
