C6380 LCD doesn't Pop up

Does anyone know what's wrong with my C6380? The LCD display doesn't pop up when the printer starts.

It just lay down all the times. Even I reset the printer with (press: Print Photos + Red Eye Removal), same thing happended.

Does anyone has an idea? Thank you so much!

Here is the description of the display from the user guide for the Photosmart C6380:

Color graphics display (also referred to as the display): Displays menus, photos, and
messages. The display can be pulled up and angled for better viewing.

In otherwords, the display does not popup on its own, it must be manually lifted the the desired viewing angle.

Thanks for the suggestion but when I try to adjusted the LCD with 45 degress angle view, it falls down freely.

 (I try 90 degress but it falls down freely as well when the print starts)

It seems there isn't any support in the joint of the LCD.

Do you think it is a device failure? Thank you!

When you lift the display, there should be little bumps as you raise it, with resistance that holds it at whatever angle that you choose. If it it does not have enough resistance to keep it at an angle, then I would agree there is a physical failure. If this is very new, you may be able to exchange the printer at the retailer. Of course, you can get it exchanged by calling 1-800-HPINVENT.

There was a spring there when it was new. Mine broke or fell off. I cut a piece of light cardboard and lean it from the back of the little tray the lcd falls into up to the back of the lcd. You can tape it in place if you want it to stay up all of the time. Cheap, works, have fun.
