You should see a "USB Printing Support".

Re: Connecting a LaserJet 6L using a USB cable

I just completed and all tests show no problems and I also checked for any driver updates.  None needed.  Looks like the cable is fine and Dell desktop is recognizing it.  In Device Manager, I can see it recognized and unrecognized when I plug it in and then remove it.

Re: Connecting a LaserJet 6L using a USB cable

I am guessing you will probably not find a workable resolution to this problem.  As the LaserJet 6L is a "host-based" product, the driver is required to be utilized via direct parallel port connection only.    Any sort of parallel to USB converter would be futile I'm afraid.

Re: Connecting a LaserJet 6L using a USB cable

Did anyone figure this out? I'm using windows 8 and printer test page (and all pages I try to print) are configuration text on several pages.

Re: Connecting a LaserJet 6L using a USB cable

I have a Toshiba Laptop using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  I have the same problem.  It will print a test page if I re-start.  Otherwise, it says "Error Printing" .  It shows there is 1 job ahead in queue.  Troubleshooting it will alsways "resolve" the issue by cancelling the job i que ahead, but when I try to print again, I get the same problem.  Has anyone figured this out?

Re: Connecting a LaserJet 6L using a USB cable

Hi etoile, are you using a USB cable that is rated to work on a Windows 7 32/64 bit?
